Super Eagles stars Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi Have Rejoined Kano Pillars on Short-Term Contracts.

Nigeria internationals Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi have rejoined Kano Pillars on short-term contracts for the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

The players were spotted at the training ground of the former champions on Thursday, October 3, preparing for their upcoming NPFL match-day five home game against Sunshine Stars.

“Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, Nazir Laja, and the rest of the squad trained ahead of the NPFL 2024/25 Matchday 5 clash against Sunshine Stars this weekend,” the club announced on X on Friday.

Musa, 31, returns to Pillars for a third stint after previously playing for the club from 2009 to 2021. Abdullahi, meanwhile, is set to make his second appearance for the team, having first played for them in 2012.

The defensive midfielder has been without a club since January 2023, while Musa terminated his contract with Turkish club Sivasspor in February.

Sunday Obaseki, head of competitions for the NPFL, confirmed Musa’s return when he hinted at rejoining the Nigerian top flight. “Yes, he can be registered. Ahmed Musa will be on the Transfer Matching System, so he won’t have a problem,” Obaseki stated.
