A TikToker’s tattoo may be small and simple, but that hasn’t stopped her from declaring it the “ugliest tattoo in the world.” While some people get tattoos impulsively to mark memorable moments, others carefully plan theirs with special meaning. Regardless of the approach, some tattoos don’t turn out as expected, and one Florida woman believes hers is the worst.
Marie Armstrong, known as @marieaarm on TikTok, says her tattoo nearly brings her to tears every day, despite its subtle appearance. In a video shared in February, she reveals a small half-peeled banana tattoo on her index finger. Initially, it blended well with her other small tattoos, but as it faded, she decided to have it redone.
Armstrong explained that the original tattoo had faded so much that it was unrecognizable. When her boyfriend had an appointment with a skilled tattoo artist, she tagged along to get the banana redone. She showed the artist a photo of the original design, and he started freehanding an update, as the small size made stenciling difficult. Trusting the artist, Armstrong didn’t anticipate any issues.
However, when she saw the final result, she couldn’t help but laugh, as the tattoo no longer resembled a banana. “I tried not to cry,” Armstrong said. “I know these are goofy tattoos, but I care.” Now, she hopes the tattoo fades again but expects her social media followers to poke fun at her finger’s nearly-banana design.
