‘Love Expert’ Reveals Key Moment to End a Relationship

A relationship coach and self-proclaimed “love expert” has revealed the pivotal moment when it’s time to end a relationship or marriage. Many of us look for a life partner to share plans with—whether that includes children, a pet, marriage, or simply companionship. But knowing when to walk away from a relationship, even one filled with love, can be equally difficult.

Some people stay in relationships for the kids or due to a fear of starting over. However, relationship expert Stephan Labossiere pinpoints a crucial signal to end things: when the other person is unwilling to communicate and make changes. “If that person is unwilling to put in the work necessary, it’s time to go,” Labossiere shared on the Jay Shetty Podcast on YouTube.

He emphasizes the futility of staying with someone who refuses meaningful communication, stressing that without their effort, the relationship won’t improve. Ignoring these signs can lead to long-term unhappiness, as the other person feels no need to change if they’re already benefiting from the situation. Labossiere likens it to a job where you’re hired without meeting qualifications; you’re unlikely to develop those skills unless you’re pushed to, often by external pressure.

During the interview, Labossiere also introduces the concept of the “love cycle,” which he believes contributes to why many relationships eventually fail.
