  • Applicants must not have submitted two prior unsuccessful applications for this scholarship scheme, including strategic partner themes.
  • Applicants must be a new entrant to the program for which they are applying for funding and have been formally accepted by the relevant department or school.
  • Those applying for a research master’s scholarship must not currently hold or have held a Council Postgraduate Scholarship.
  • Applicants for a PhD scholarship must not currently hold or have previously held any Council Postgraduate Scholarship, except those enabling them to secure a research master’s degree.
  • Applicants will be classified into two categories based on nationality and residency:
  • Category I: Applicants must meet both criteria: be a citizen of an EEA member state or Switzerland and have resided continuously in an EEA member state or Switzerland for 3 out of the 5 years preceding October 1st.
