International Research Tuition Scholarship (IRTS)
International Research Tuition Scholarships (IRTS) are granted to international students based on academic merit and proven research ability. Recipients must also have full living stipend support funded externally, such as through a recognized sponsor or external scholarship provider.
Value
The IRTS covers full tuition fees for up to 4 years for PhD students and up to 2 years for Master of Research students. This scholarship does not include Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), which is mandatory for student visa holders; applicants are responsible for arranging appropriate health coverage for themselves and their dependents, if applicable.
Eligibility
Besides meeting UniSA’s general eligibility requirements, applicants must:
- Be international students beginning a research degree.
- Demonstrate high research quality as assessed by UniSA.
- Have strong supervisory support, including an end-user adviser on the panel when appropriate, and be enrolled in a research-intensive environment.
- Have secured or be awarded a fully externally funded living stipend scholarship, or receive a living stipend backed by external funding.*
*Note: The living stipend must come from an externally funded scholarship administered by the University or agreed upon with an industry partner, sponsorship organization, or similar body.
