Woman’s Blind Date Takes a Horr!fying Turn After Ch!lling Confession

A woman introduced to a man by her brother discovered through a phone call that he was a wanted cr!minal who had lied about his identity and past. After the recent arrest of Kyle Coolack, accused of fatally shooting his brother in 2022, Idaho resident Jeney Voyek recounted her brief dating experience with the alleged fug!tive.

In an interview with KCCI, Voyek shared that she initially met Coolack after her brother Eddie, who found him by the roadside and assumed he was a veteran in need, invited him into his home in Pomeroy and offered him work.

Voyek described Coolack as charismatic and persuasive, seemingly skilled at telling people what they wanted to hear. But a few days after their date, he dropped the pretense during a phone call, allegedly revealing his real identity and confessing to his brother’s m*rder two years prior, reportedly while under the influence.

Shocked by this revelation, Voyek informed her brother, who confronted Coolack and received a similar confession. Eddie then asked Coolack to leave and alerted authorities. The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Coolack—who had introduced himself to Voyek and her brother as “James”—on October 20 along State Highway 4.

Sgt. Cullen Duncan of the Houston Police Department spoke about the arrest, saying it provided a sense of closure and that it was only a matter of time before he was caught.

Reflecting on the situation, Voyek expressed gratitude that Coolack is now in custody, realizing the potential danger she faced and wondering if he might have harmed her. She urged others to exercise caution when interacting with strangers, especially when inviting them into their homes.
