A woman trag!cally passed away after a freak accident at an airfield while taking photos. The incident occurred at Cook Airfield in Derby, Kansas, USA, and the victim was identified as 37-year-old Amanda Gallagher. Derby is recognized as the largest suburb of Wichita and is located in Sedgwick County.

Emergency services were alerted shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, when Sedgwick County dispatch received an accident report.

Gallagher sustained cr!tical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Upon investigation, authorities determined that Gallagher was severely injured after accidentally stepping backward into an aircraft propeller while photographing people boarding and deboarding.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, but in the meantime, Amanda’s loved ones have organized a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses. The fundraiser’s organizer, Abbey Charboneau, shared a heartfelt tribute to her late friend in light of the tragic news.

“Amanda Gallagher was kind, adventurous, creative, and beautiful inside and out. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed,” she wrote. Charboneau added, “On October 26th, Amanda passed away in a very sad accident, doing what she loved, skydiving and taking pictures. As her family processes this tragic accident, they could use support with funeral expenses. Please consider helping them out and keeping them in your prayers.”

Following the news, Cook Airfield released a statement on their official Facebook page, expressing condolences. They wrote, “Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young lady who died in a tragic accident with an airplane propeller at Cook Airfield. I wasn’t present at the time, so I won’t speculate on what should have happened differently. Please keep her family, friends, and Air Capital Drop Zone family in your prayers and thoughts.”

At present, the GoFundMe page has raised nearly $6,000 (£4,625) toward its $12,000 goal (£9,250).
