“Woman Calls Critics ‘Uneducated’ After Being Accused of Dressing ‘Inappropriately’ at Disney World”

A woman criticized for her outfit at a Disney theme park has hit back at her critics, calling their remarks “uneducated.”

Jessie Lee, a 21-year-old recent university graduate, shared photos from her summer cultural exchange trip to Disney World Resorts in Florida, not expecting the negative reactions they would generate. She posted a series of TikTok videos documenting her work experience and fun at the park.

The controversy centered around one particular outfit. Although Jessie mostly wore Disney-issued uniforms during her shifts, she also posted images of her personal outfits. In one set of pictures, she wore a red top, red gingham shorts, and Snow White-themed mouse ears—an ensemble that sparked mixed reactions online.

Jessie defended her outfit, saying it was typical of what other women wore in the summer heat, and she was surprised by the negative comparisons to a “stripper.” Commenting on the remarks about her “bloomer”-style shorts, she said: “Someone said I acted like a stripper. Some people just want to be negative. Most of the feedback was positive, though one person joked that my shorts looked like an adult diaper, which I found funny. I get where they’re coming from, but these shorts were trendy this summer. Maybe they just missed the fashion memo.”

Disney World Resorts requires visitors to wear shirts and shoes at all times and prohibits inappropriate clothing, such as offensive language or excessively torn garments. Despite the backlash, Jessie defended her outfit, explaining: “I spent the entire summer at Disney World, from June to August, and with temperatures in the high 30s, I saw hundreds of people wearing similar clothing. I felt my outfit was in line with what others wore.”

Many people came to her defense, supporting her decision to dress comfortably in the heat.

“They clearly don’t know what Florida heat feels like. Go girly,” one commenter wrote. Another added: “There’s nothing wrong with the outfit; it’s cute. As a cast member, I’ve seen much more revealing clothes.”

One user even joked: “It’s not inappropriate; it gives dads something to look at.”
