Renowned Nollywood Actor, Saint Obi, has Passed Away at the Age of 57.

Obinna Nwafor, a veteran Nollywood actor known as Saint Obi, has passed away at the age of 57. He died on Sunday, May 7, 2023 in Jos, Plateau State, at the home of one of his siblings. It is reported that his death took almost a week to be announced due to a disagreement between his siblings.

The cause of his death remains unknown at this time, but his body has been taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital morgue. The actor had recently relocated to his sister’s home in Jos.

Saint Obi, whose real name is Obinna Nwafor, was a popular Nigerian actor, producer, director and musician. He was born on November 16, 1965 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.

Saint Obi started his career as a graphic artist and later transitioned into acting. He made his acting debut in the 1991 movie “Candle Light” and went on to feature in several blockbuster movies over the years, including “Sakobi”, “State of Emergency”, “Festival of Fire” and “Heart of Gold”.

In addition to acting, Saint Obi was also a producer and director. He founded the production company “Agwhyren Productions” which produced several movies, including “Take Me to Mama” and “Last Party”.

In 2000, he launched a music career with his debut album titled “Take Me Higher”, which was well-received by his fans.

Saint Obi was loved for his charming and captivating performances on screen. He was considered one of the leading actors of the Nollywood industry in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Sadly, the actor passed away on May 7, 2023 in Jos, Plateau State, at the age of 57. His death was a huge loss to the Nigerian entertainment industry, and he will always be remembered as a legendary figure in Nollywood history.
