A prison official stated that Bobrisky was not placed in the general cell during his time at Kirikiri Maximum Prison due to his feminine features, specifically his breasts.
While testifying before the House of Representatives investigation panel on September 30, DCC Michael Anuga explained, “During his admission, we discovered that Idris has a peculiar feature that prevents us from placing him in a general area. Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju has female features, including breasts.” He noted that a medical professional was brought in to confirm this.
“As a result, the board held a meeting to determine the best way to manage his situation. We concluded that he should be placed in protective custody. He spent his time in B-ward, room 2, alone. This decision was made to adhere to international best practices and comply with our laws.”
