North West, Daughter of Kanye and Kim Kardashian, Reveals She Doesn’t Use Her Real Name in Public

North West uses a pseudonym when she’s out with friends, although she recently hinted at possibly changing it. As the eldest child of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, North, who has already shown interest in taking over Yeezy and Skims and announced her debut album at age 10, values some anonymity despite her public upbringing.

In an Interview Magazine conversation with her mother, North shared her perspective on having two famous parents and her mixed feelings about the paparazzi.

She mentioned, “I like taking pictures of myself, but I don’t like when paparazzi do. When I just woke up and there’s so many, I’m like, ‘Yo, I’m going to sue you.’ But if I’m ready, not tired, and my outfit’s on point, I think, ‘Okay, I could take a picture.’”

When spending time with friends, North revealed she uses a fake name. When asked if she had a pseudonym, she said, “I have one.” At age 11, North goes by ‘Katie Johnson’ when she’s at places like Sky Zone with her friends.

However, she mentioned she might change it soon, explaining, “When I look in the mirror for a while, I’m like, ‘I don’t look like a Katie.’ So, I figured, ‘Okay, I need a new name.’ So I’m telling everyone now.”

Though her next alias remains unknown, North previously used a different name during a performance with her father. In February, she joined Ye on stage for a song from his album Vultures 1. The track, titled ‘Talking,’ featured North’s live rapping debut in Paris, where she performed lines like, “It’s your bestie, Miss Miss Westie / Don’t try to test me / It’s gonna get messy.”
