If you could enjoy your favorite meal every day, would you? Whether it’s creamy carbonara, tacos, or a daily grilled cheese with fries, there’s often one dish that just hits the spot. For Kirk Alexander, that favorite meal was Domino’s Pizza.
For nearly ten years, Alexander ordered fresh pizza daily from his local Domino’s in Salem, Oregon. His routine was so consistent that the staff expected his order during nearly every shift. But in 2016, after 11 days without an order from Alexander, the employees grew concerned.
While it might seem he was just taking a break from pizza, branch manager Sarah Fuller noted, “Some drivers mentioned his order hadn’t come up on our screens lately. I checked and realized it had been 11 days, which was very unusual for him.”
Worried, the Domino’s team sent a delivery driver to Alexander’s home to check in. Upon arrival, the driver noticed lights and a TV on inside, but no one responded to the door. This prompted them to contact the police.
When officers from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they heard a man calling for help inside and broke in. They found Kirk in need of immediate medical care and rushed him to a hospital, where he was stabilized.
Later, the Domino’s team visited Kirk in the hospital with flowers and cards, though they didn’t bring any pizza. Reflecting on their actions, Fuller remarked, “He’s an important customer, part of our Domino’s family. We were just checking on someone we knew well and cared about.”
For their kindness, the Domino’s employees were recognized on Good Morning America and awarded tickets to see Captain America: Civil War.
