There is a popular saying that “Dog is Man’s best friend”, this story would prove to you that man is also dog’s best friend. A young man known as Kaleb Benham wasn’t going to let a huge bear intimidate him when the bear tried to take his dog away.
It happened the day before Thanksgiving when Benham and his pitbull dog were strolling outside their home in Nothern California, USA. His dog who is known as Buddy, was playing around doing what dogs do best, but Buddy messed with the wrong dude and he almost paid with his life. Benham was far away when he heard the scary roar of a bear. He ran to look for Buddy and when he got there, he saw his dog in front of a huge 350 Pound giant black bear. In a blink of an eye, the bear grabbed his dog by the head and started dragging him away.
Benham took off after them not knowing what he was going to do when he comes face to face with the giant beast. Benham lowered his shoulder and charged against the bear, but it only made the bear tighten his grip on Buddy. Benham tried to open the mouth of the bear but it’s grip was too tight. Benham resulted into street fighting, punching the bear in its eyes over and over again which eventually made it drop Buddy and ran into the woods.
Benham said that his dog was in a pretty bad shape, his face was ripped up, his ear was dangling and a bite mark went through his face which luckily missed his eyes. Benham put Buddy in his car and sped off to the nearest veterinarian he could find. Buddy had surgery for about four hours as Benham watched his dog getting stitched up. Luckily, the surgery was successful and Buddy recovered fine. In the past, Benham had rescued Buddy before from a shelter where he wasn’t treated right, this was the second time that Benham had rescued his dog.
