Man Arrested for Falsely Accusing Police Officers of Phone Theft Following Stop and Search (Video)

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a young man named Isaac for making a false claim that police officers stole his Samsung Fold 4 phone during a stop-and-search operation.

In a social media video, Bright Edafe, the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Police, provided details on the incident, which occurred on Thursday, October 24. Edafe explained that Isaac was stopped, searched, and allowed to go when no illegal items were found on him.

“We’re just doing our job. I don’t understand why someone who was searched and let go would choose to come back and make a false accusation against the police. He was aware his friend had the Samsung phone and even told his friend to deny it, intending to blame the officers for its loss,” Edafe remarked.

The spokesperson also noted that both individuals involved in the case will be presented in court soon.
