Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated the Lagos Red Line rail for commercial use with its first journey from Oyingbo Station to Agbado. This inaugural trip took place at 5:20 pm on Tuesday, October 16, occurring seven months after the rail infrastructure was finished and opened.

The governor noted that this is the second rail system to be operational within two years in the state.

Posting on X on Tuesday night, Sanwo-Olu wrote that the day represents a significant milestone for Lagos as the Red Line Rail embarked on its first ride, marking a new chapter in the state’s public transportation system.
