“Funeral Home Apologizes After Body Falls from Van into Traffic”

A funeral home in Poland has apologized after a body fell out of one of their hearses into traffic. Hades Funeral Service was transporting the deceased through Stalowa Wola when the body unexpectedly slipped from the vehicle.

A driver, initially thinking he had hit someone, saw a sheet on his windshield, which revealed the body lying in the road as it slid down.

Images of the incident, showing the body at a pedestrian crossing, were shared on social media.

Hades Funeral Service took full responsibility and issued an apology, explaining that the mishap was due to a technical failure with the hearse’s lock. They assured the public that this incident does not reflect their usual high standards.

The funeral home stated, “It is with deep regret that we report an unfortunate incident during the transportation of a deceased person, caused by a technical failure in the hearse’s electric tailgate latch. We accept full responsibility for the event.”

The company expressed their sympathies to the family of the deceased, who were notified immediately, and said they remain in close contact to offer support. Hades emphasized that they are committed to helping families through difficult times and have taken steps to ensure such incidents won’t happen again, including a full inspection of their vehicles and additional staff training.

The hearse was driven by an experienced employee, who also apologized for the event. Hades Funeral Service reassured clients that their services, which include handling all burial arrangements and necessary paperwork, remain focused on easing the burden for grieving families.
