Fred Amata Calls Out Ex-Wife Agatha for Walking Their Daughter Down the Aisle While He Is Still Alive

Veteran Nollywood Actor Fred Amata Criticizes Ex-Wife Agatha for Walking Their Daughter Down the Aisle Without Him

Fred Amata, a veteran Nollywood actor, has openly expressed his disapproval of his ex-wife, Agatha, for walking their daughter, Stephanie, down the aisle while he is still alive.

Last week, Agatha shared photos from Stephanie’s wedding, including a video of her accompanying their daughter to meet her Caucasian groom, Aaron. The video raised questions among the public, with many wondering why Fred was not the one to walk Stephanie down the aisle, especially since the former couple had shown a united front at their son Oreva’s wedding in Nigeria just last year.

In a detailed Facebook post, Fred Amata criticized his ex-wife Agatha’s actions, describing them as an “abomination” and a violation of tradition. He stressed that in no culture, including Africa and their native Delta State, is it acceptable for a mother to walk her daughter down the aisle while the father is alive and actively involved in her life.

The veteran actor expressed his bewilderment over why the wedding’s date and time were kept from him, despite his earlier blessing. He also shared photos from a previous visit with Stephanie and her groom, Aaron, before the wedding took place.

Fred Amata opened up about his failed marriage, highlighting his role in Agatha’s rise to fame through the creation of the talk show “Inside-Out with Agatha,” which he claims made her a household name.

In his post, he wrote:

“The Good Wife.

For over 20 years, I remained silent about my failed marriage, hoping that the wounds would heal and reconciliation might be possible. However, the ‘good wife’ repeatedly undermined me, tarnishing my reputation and belittling my achievements while exploiting my name for her own gain.

It was over 25 years ago that I conceived the unique idea for “Inside-Out with Agatha,” a talk show featuring six informed and opposing viewpoints presented by eloquent speakers. After attending a talk show hosted by Regina Askia, Agatha expressed her desire to become a talk show host. I reassured her, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll come up with something that will make you like Oprah Winfrey.” And I did.

I poured my heart and soul into creating a groundbreaking concept that had never been seen in Nigeria, aside from a less engaging program called “MEE to You” by the late May Ellen Ezekiel. “Inside-Out with Agatha” quickly became a hit, thanks to its engaging production values and innovative approach. I gathered a talented crew from the early days of Nollywood, and soon, everyone wanted to be involved.

I invested all my resources—friends, loyalties, and connections—bringing in top production talents to ensure the show’s success. “Inside-Out with Agatha” became a cash cow for the ‘good wife’ and a tool for her to undermine me, turning my vision into her empire.

Despite all my efforts, my reputation suffered while hers flourished. Today, the ‘good wife’ has built a billion-dollar empire, with no acknowledgment of my contributions, no compensation, and no royalties. Yet, she continues to harbor resentment and has even registered a new company to claim ownership of the program, discarding the one we built together.

After 20 years, one would think she would have moved on, but her bitterness remains. Now, she has dared to challenge tradition by walking our daughter down the aisle, an act I see as an abomination. In no culture, especially in Delta State, is it acceptable for a mother to give away her child in marriage while the father is alive and willing.

What malice drives a woman to undermine her ex by leading their daughter to marriage? Why conceal the wedding details from a father who has already given his blessing?

To all the good people out there, what options does a heartbroken father have when faced with this situation? How can a father express his love when a ‘good wife’ allows wealth and bitterness to jeopardize his daughter’s blessings?

Aaron, my daughter’s fiancé, even brought drinks for me as a gesture of respect, as shown in the photos.

What kind of ‘good wife’ does this just to tarnish a man’s image?”**
