FCT Police Respond to Report of Young Woman Who D!ed in Accident After Leaving Male Friend’s House

The FCT police have responded to reports regarding the death of 24-year-old Priscilla Ocheme, who died after visiting her boyfriend in Abuja. Priscilla’s family, seeking justice, enlisted the help of activist Harrison Gwamnishu, claiming she was found dead after visiting a male friend she had known from Madonna University in the Lugbe area.

Amid rumors suggesting foul play, the police clarified that Priscilla died in a car accident. Her family, however, accused the police of covering up the true circumstances of her death.

In an October 22 statement, police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh denied these allegations, stating that Priscilla’s death was indeed the result of an accident after she left her friend’s house.

The statement detailed that the FCT Police questioned her male friend, EKHOSUEHI ISEH ELVIS (also known as Richard), on September 24, 2024. It was revealed that the two had met at Madonna University and reconnected in 2019 during his youth service in Abuja. EKHOSUEHI had become a close family friend, frequently visiting Priscilla’s home, and she had similarly visited his.

On September 22, 2024, following a minor argument with her mother, Priscilla left her family’s home in Karu and went to EKHOSUEHI’s residence to cool off. After leaving his home, she was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident at the Amala Moore junction in Pyakasa, witnessed by two laborers, Jerry Amos and Moses Bala, who took her to a local health center. She was later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi, where she was pronounced dead.

The police emphasized their commitment to professionalism and integrity, ensuring public trust, and promised a thorough and fair investigation. They asked for the public’s understanding and pledged to provide further updates as the investigation progresses.
