This is the inaugural course designed to address global challenges related to food innovation, product design, and packaging. FIPDes aims to train a new generation of food professionals who can operate internationally, fostering an inclusive vision of innovation to develop sustainable, healthy food solutions for future generations on our planet.
It is a joint master’s program offered by four universities, which are among the oldest and most prestigious in Europe. This truly integrated and unique program employs a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, covering everything from initial concept development and prototyping to consumption, as well as from raw materials to packaged products. Scholarship Coverage:
The EMJMD scholarships cover student participation costs, including tuition fees, full insurance coverage, and any other mandatory expenses associated with the course. Eligibility Criteria for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree FIPDes
To qualify for the Master of Food Innovation and Product Design (FIPDes) program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Required Languages: Proficiency in English is necessary (students will have the opportunity to learn French during the course).
- Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries worldwide.
- Educational Background: Applicants must hold a BSc degree or an equivalent qualification of at least 180 ECTS or its equivalent in food science and technology, biotechnology, process engineering, biochemistry, nutrition, or related fields. This should include significant foundational coursework (e.g., chemistry, biotechnology, process technology/engineering, biochemistry, mathematics, and statistics), amounting to at least three years of study at a recognized institution of higher education. Candidates should seek a genuinely international academic experience and aspire to an international career.
- English Language Proficiency: Proficiency can be demonstrated through one of the following means:
- TOEFL score of at least 575.
- Internet-based TOEFL score of at least 90.
- IELTS score of at least 6.5.
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency (FCE with B2 level, CAE, or CPE).
- Native English speakers must provide a copy of their passport as proof.
- Applicants who have completed a degree where instruction was in English must provide a certificate from the university attesting to this.
- A stay of more than one year in an English-speaking country must be validated with a certificate from the employer or equivalent, or a copy of the passport page showing entry and exit visa details.
- Exceptions may be made for exceptional students who may not meet the English proficiency requirement.
