Delta Police PRO Warns POS Operators: Transactions Over 500k Could Lead to Trouble; Woman Accused of Receiving 4 Million Naira Ransom Paraded

SP Bright Edafe, spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, has urged Point of Sale (POS) operators to refrain from handling large financial transactions, warning that doing so could link them to kidnappers.

This caution was given on Thursday, October 17, 2024, when he introduced a female POS operator accused of processing a 4 million Naira ransom for kidnappers.

“My advice to POS operators is that transactions over 500,000 Naira could get you into serious trouble.

Don’t facilitate ransom payments for kidnappers, as the trail will lead back to you. This operator received a 4 million Naira ransom but only made 40,000 Naira. It’s a dangerous game—while it may seem like business, you could find yourself in prison before a lawyer can assist you,” he warned.
