I’m Not Focused on Re-Election; Nigerians Will Appreciate My Tough Decisions – President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu expressed confidence that Nigerians will eventually appreciate the difficult policies and decisions his administration is currently implementing.

Speaking at the South-West Assembly of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos on Saturday, October 5, Tinubu, represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, acknowledged that his government’s reforms have drawn criticism. However, he reassured APC members that these tough measures are essential for steering the country in the right direction and expressed gratitude for the support his administration has received.

The event was attended by APC leaders from the southwest geopolitical zone, including governors, deputy governors, and lawmakers. Tinubu emphasized that his focus is not on the 2027 election but on improving the lives of Nigerians and creating a prosperous future for the next generation.

“We understand that our decisions have been difficult, but they were necessary. The benefits will come in time, and eventually, we will all be grateful for these choices. My focus is not on the next election, but on the next generation. This is why we are undertaking long-overdue reforms, which is the true hallmark of leadership,” the president said.
