A mystery buyer has gained attention after reportedly spending $4,000 on a signed Taylor Swift guitar at a charity auction in Texas, only to immediately destroy it with a hammer.
The man, described as having white hair, smashed the pop star’s autographed guitar during the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner in Waxahachie, near Dallas, over the weekend. Viral footage shared on social media captured the moment.
In the video, the unidentified man grins as he approaches the stage, where he’s handed both the guitar and the hammer. Prior to the event, organizers had promoted the signed guitar as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” on Facebook.
After purchasing the instrument, the man lifted it high above his head and began smashing it repeatedly as the crowd cheered. At one point, he paused as if considering whether to throw the guitar to the ground but ultimately walked off with the remnants. The video does not reveal his reasons for the dramatic gesture.
