The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended a woman for stealing a 7-day-old baby girl during the child’s naming ceremony in the Keffi Local Government Area.
According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the suspect, who has been claiming to be pregnant, was arrested on September 28, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM.
“Police operatives from the Keffi Division arrested Khadija Aliyu during the naming ceremony held behind the INEC office in Keffi,” the PPRO reported.
“While the event was taking place, she sneaked into the home, took the sleeping baby, concealed her behind a veil, and escaped before being caught.”
