Chelsea Players Stand To Earn a Little Sum If They Secure Victory In The Carabao Cup Finals

Chelsea’s players stand to share a modest bonus pool of just £500,000 should they emerge victorious in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, marking the first trophy under the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital era.

Despite substantial investments in the transfer market since the acquisition from Roman Abramovich two years ago, the club’s new owners have successfully trimmed the wage bill and maintained tight control over bonuses.

Compared to the £1.6 million shared by Manchester United’s players following their Carabao Cup triumph last year, Chelsea’s potential bonus is notably lower. Divided equally among Mauricio Pochettino’s 25-man squad, each player would receive approximately £20,000—a figure less than a day’s wages for most individuals.

Chelsea’s winning bonus for the FA Cup is more substantial at £1 million, mirroring the higher prize money available in that tournament.

In recent years, the FA has notably boosted prize money, with this season’s competition winners set to receive £4 million. In contrast, Carabao Cup champions receive just £100,000 from the EFL.

As is customary among Premier League clubs, Chelsea provides significantly larger bonuses linked to performances in the Champions League, including both winning the tournament and securing qualification.
