Actor Yul Edochie has expressed his disappointment with Nigerians who are well-versed in biblical figures such as Moses and Jacob but remain ignorant about their own ancestral heritage.
In a social media post, Yul called this situation a “big shame,” remarking:
“We’ve been conditioned to know everything about Moses, Jacob, Isaac, and the people of Israel, yet we know so little about our own ancestors. We’re unaware of the accomplishments of our grandfathers, grandmothers, and the remarkable individuals in our own lineage.
It’s a big shame for all of us.
If you don’t know who you are and where you come from, you’ll never truly understand where you’re headed.”
