A disgruntled wedding guest has revealed how a bride and groom organized a ‘tiered’ wedding, providing luxury treatment to wealthier attendees while others received lower-quality options. The clear class divide shocked guests, with their financial status influencing the experience at the extravagant event.
The whistleblower claimed that richer guests were served superior food and alcohol, while less affluent attendees were given substandard offerings. The guest expressed outrage, noting that the groom came from a “very wealthy family” that spared no expense for the event but had no control over its planning or execution.
The wedding, attended by 150 people, featured an outdoor ceremony in sweltering heat, followed by a seven-course dinner. According to a Reddit user, the dinner was served buffet-style, with one table receiving “four slices of steak for eight people.” The guest also pointed out there were only “two wine bottles per table” and no bar during dinner.
What shocked the guest most was seeing wealthy attendees being served high-end wines, scotch, tequila, and more food, while others received much less. The night ended on a sour note with no proper dessert, just boxes of Oreos and cut-up apple slices.
The couple’s approach didn’t sit well with guests, including the groom’s mother, who reportedly “left in tears, ashamed of how most guests were treated.” Online commenters criticized the couple as “cheap,” with one person calling the tiered system “a new, tacky thing.” Another noted, “It’s unfathomable but not surprising that people behave this way,” while someone speculated, “Now you know how wealthy people stay wealthy—by being super cheap.”
