Donald Trump has escalated his anti-immigration stance by depicting migrants as d*ngerous cr!minals during a rally in Aurora, Colorado, USA, where he called for the de*th penalty for migrants who kill U.S. citizens.
Standing next to images of suspected members of the Venezuelan g*ng Tren de Aragua, Trump announced that if elected, he would implement a nationwide “Operation Aurora” aimed at targeting gang members.
As the Republican presidential candidate, Trump intensified his anti-immigration rhetoric with just weeks remaining before the November 5 election, where he seeks to defeat Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
“I’m calling for the death penalty for any migrant who k!lls an American citizen or a law enforcement officer,” Trump declared to the applause of his supporters.
Trump has also suggested expanding the death penalty for other crimes, including those convicted of s*x trafficking women and children.
Although a federal de*th penalty exists, it is rarely enforced, according to the Death Penalty Information Center, a non-profit organization. Expanding the list of crimes eligible for the death penalty would require U.S. Congress legislation.
