Trial Date Officially Set for M*rder of Four Students in ‘Worst Cr!me Scene Police Have Ever Seen’

Two years after the horr!fic m*rders of four University of Idaho students, a trial date has been set for the suspect, Bryan Kohberger. Kohberger is accused of k!lling Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves, both 21, along with Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle, both 20, in their off-campus residence near the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho.

The m*rders took place on November 13, 2022, in what authorities described as one of the most gru*some crime scenes they had ever encountered. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt confirmed that all four students had been f*tally stabbed, describing the scene as one where they had been “b*tchered.” Two other roommates were present during the attack but were unharmed and were quickly ruled out as suspects.

After a nearly two-month manhunt, Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania and charged with the k!llings. Authorities allege that he fled to the Scranton area before his capture. Judge Steven Hippler has now scheduled the trial to begin on July 30, 2025, with jury selection starting on that date.

The trial is expected to last about three months, largely due to the possibility of the death penalty if Kohberger, 29, is convicted. Kohberger has pleaded not guilty, maintaining that he was driving alone at the time of the m*rders. His public defender, Anne Taylor, stated, “Mr. Kohberger has a history of taking long, solitary drives, often at night,” adding that he was driving on the night of November 12 into the early hours of November 13, 2022.

Kohberger’s defense team will present witnesses during the trial, with court documents suggesting they may challenge the state’s case by questioning the credibility of witnesses. However, Kohberger has not provided a specific alibi for where he was during the murders.
