Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, is reportedly moving forward in court to finalize her divorce from Richard Lawson after more than a year of inactivity in the case.
As per court documents obtained by In Touch, Tina, 70, has informed the court that she has provided Richard, 77, with a complete list of her income, expenses, and assets.
This financial exchange is a required step for the court to officially conclude the divorce. However, Richard has yet to submit paperwork confirming that he has provided his own financial details.
In July 2023, Tina Knowles filed for divorce after eight years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation.
In her petition, Tina requested that the court terminate any possibility of spousal support for either party and asked to have her last name legally restored to Knowles.
Tina and Richard were married in 2015 during a yacht ceremony in Newport Beach, California, attended by guests like Beyoncé, Solange, Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Samuel L. Jackson, and Richard’s children, Bianca and Richard Lawson.
Reflecting on her wedding day, Tina said, “To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family, and to see my handsome man standing there, knowing that at 61 you can still find love and have a magical day like that was really beautiful.”
Tina was previously married to Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyoncé and Solange, for three decades. Their marriage ended in 2009, with the divorce finalized in 2011.
