One such vessel is the enormous Yas, known for its striking white and blue design and primarily fibreglass superstructure. LuxuryLaunches.com once valued it at around £140 million. Yas is owned by Hamdan bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a descendant of the former ruler of Abu Dhabi and brother to the current ruler. This grand yacht is commonly seen in ports like Lisbon, Marseille, and Malaga.

Interestingly, Yas did not start as a royal Gulf superyacht. Originally commissioned in 1978 for the Dutch navy as the HNLMS Piet Hein, it was acquired by the Emirati navy in 1998 and renamed Al-Emirat.

After his tenure with the UAE navy, the prince acquired the ship, which was then transformed into the magnificent Yas and relaunched in 2011.

The redesigned vessel features extensive glasswork, filling the interiors with natural light, and its design is inspired by the sleek contours of a dolphin. The 463-foot yacht can accommodate up to 56 crew members and offers luxurious lodging for as many as 60 guests.

Guests on board enjoy lavish amenities, including an indoor swimming pool and a spa.

Additionally, the yacht is equipped with a helipad, providing a grand and convenient option for aerial arrivals.
