Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Primeboy and a close friend of the late singer Mohbad, has threatened legal action against Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, over allegedly defamatory remarks she made about him.
Through his lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Primeboy issued a statement claiming that Mohbad’s mother accused him in an interview of having conflicts with the late singer while he was still alive.
“In the interview, you alleged that our client frequently fought with Mohbad and often complained of being neglected by him after gaining fame. You further claimed that our client was advised to flee after Mohbad’s death to avoid suspicion,” the statement read.
Primeboy described her comments as defamatory, accusing her of deliberately tarnishing his reputation and impacting his relationship with his fanbase.
“Your actions are calculated to harm our client’s integrity, a rising figure in the music industry. Your false allegations have severely damaged the affection and support our client receives from fans and well-wishers around the world,” the statement continued.
Primeboy has demanded that Mohbad’s mother retract her statements within seven days or face legal action.
The circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death in September 2023 continue to stir controversy.
