Minister of Power: Over 40% of Nigerians Now Enjoy 20 Hours of Daily Electricity Supply

On Sunday, September 29, Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu announced that over 40 percent of Nigerians now benefit from 20 hours of electricity supply each day.

In a statement, Adelabu attributed this achievement to the government’s initiatives aimed at providing more stable and consistent electricity.

“This success is the result of numerous revolutionary measures implemented by the Power Ministry, with the backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he noted.

He highlighted that one of the ministry’s key accomplishments over the past year is generating over 5,500 megawatts of power.

Adelabu stressed the importance of stable electricity for economic growth, stating, “Today, we generate over 5,500 megawatts of power, which we transmit and distribute, allowing over 40% of customers to enjoy more than 20 hours of reliable power supply nationwide. There has been significant improvement since we took office, and we aim to enhance this further.”
