U.S. police report that they have thwarted a third ass*ssination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
A man from Las Vegas, named Vem Miller, was apprehended with weapons and fake passes near a Trump rally in Coachella Valley, as per Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco.
At a checkpoint, Miller was found to possess a sh*tgun, a loaded handgun, and a high-capacity magazine, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Bianco believes Miller, identified as a member of a right-leaning anti-government group, intended to assassinate Trump. Deputies reportedly foiled the plan when Miller att*mpted to use fake VIP and press passes at a checkpoint.
Bianco stated that the fake passes raised suspicions, saying, “We probably stopped another ass*ssination attempt.”
Miller identifies as a “sovereign citizen,” a group that does not recognize government authority unless they consent to it. He was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm and high-capacity magazine but was released after posting $5,000 bail for each misdemeanor charge, according to police records.
This incident follows two prior assassination attempts against Trump. The first occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, when Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, sh*t Trump in the right ear before being killed by Secret Service. The second attempt was on August 15, when Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested in Florida for allegedly aiming a r!fle at Trump while he was golfing.
