Police Officers Accused of Harass!ng and Extort!ng Corps Members in Surulere (Video)

Police officers have been accused of extorting N1 million from three corps members in Surulere, Lagos.

Twitter user Oluyemi Fasipe shared videos showing police officers inspecting the car documents of the vehicle’s occupants. In the footage, one officer enters their car and prevents the corps members from filming while refusing to allow them to contact their loved ones, insisting they keep their phones hidden.

Fasipe captioned the video: “Dear @BenHundeyin, your officers in Surulere today extorted 1 million naira from three corps members.

“They were threatened with firearms, kidnapped, and taken to the KAFARU OLUWOLE TINUBU HOUSE AREA C POLICE COMMAND of the @LagosPoliceNG, where they were robbed.

“Their only offense was not having a physical copy of their driver’s license. This is unacceptable!”
