A Nigerian father has filed a petition with the Nigerian Senate after his 16-year-old daughter’s JAMB exam result was withheld, allegedly because she rejected advances from the exam invigilator.
While presenting the petition, Senator Neda Imaseun, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, explained that, according to the father, the invigilator made advances toward his daughter at the exam center.
“He asked for her phone number, which she declined to give. Afterward, her exam result was withheld. When the father inquired about the reason, he was told it was due to exam malpractice, a claim they strongly deny.”
The invigilator later somehow obtained the daughter’s phone number and began calling her. The father warned him to stop contacting her, but the situation escalated, resulting in the withholding of her exam result, with officials refusing to release it.
Imaseun noted that the father is appealing to the Senate for intervention.
