Nick Jonas Leaves Stage After ‘Laser Was Pointed at Him’ During Concert

The Jonas Brothers abruptly paused one of their concerts after a fan was spotted aiming a laser at Nick Jonas’ head. While it was not likely an assassination attempt, the brothers—Kevin, Joe, and Nick—chose not to take any chances and quickly left the stage during their performance in Prague, Czech Republic.

Footage shows a laser being directed at Nick’s head and hand, prompting him to duck and signal a ‘time out’ before exiting. Fans were initially confused by the sudden halt, but a venue representative later explained the situation, leading to widespread frustration online.

One fan expressed outrage on Twitter, writing, “Why would you point a laser at Nick? You scared him and the rest. From what I read, they stopped the show for a few minutes because of this, which is why he signaled ‘time out’ and left. Have some decency!” Another added, “That’s really scary,” while a third remarked, “Whoever aimed that laser at Nick deserves jail time. He looked terrified. It must have been frightening for everyone to see him run off like that.”

A fourth commenter pointed out the pressure artists face, saying, “This is scary for performers; sometimes fans cross the line.”

Although the laser turned out to be harmless, concerts have been targeted by terror attacks in the past. In 2017, an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, was tragically bombed, resulting in 22 deaths and hundreds of injuries. The homemade device exploded in the Manchester Arena as attendees were leaving on May 22, 2017.

In the aftermath, Grande released a heartfelt statement encouraging compassion and healing, saying, “When you look into the audience at my shows, you see a beautiful, diverse, pure, happy crowd… Music is meant to heal us, to bring us together, to make us happy… We will continue in honor of the ones we lost… and they will always be in my heart.”
