Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is eager to testify in his upcoming trial, according to his lawyer.
Marc Agnifilo, a former Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, discussed the potential dynamics of Diddy’s trial in an interview with TMZ, which will feature as part of an upcoming documentary on the case. “I don’t know that I could keep him off the stand. He’s very eager to tell his story, and I believe he will share every detail,” Agnifilo stated.
This announcement follows Diddy’s indictment in New York on charges of racketeering, s*x traff!cking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The 54-year-old has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has been denied bail. The presiding judge agreed with prosecutors that Diddy poses a significant flight risk and a danger to others.
Agnifilo emphasized Diddy’s desire to present his perspective to the jury, despite the inherent risks. “He has a story that only he can tell, in his own way, in real time. It’s a human story—a story of love, hurt, and heartbreak,” he explained.
Additionally, Agnifilo addressed the discovery of “1,000 bottles” of baby oil and lubricant at Diddy’s residences in Miami and Los Angeles. “I don’t think it was 1,000, but certainly a lot. There’s a Costco nearby, and Americans do tend to buy in bulk,” he remarked.
Agnifilo also highlighted the need to clarify an infamous incident from 2016, where Diddy was seen in a video reportedly as*aulting then-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel. “I expect both of us will explain that situation. When he reflects on that relationship, the word he uses most frequently is ‘heartbreak.’ Both he and she were heartbroken,” he concluded.
