The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 34-year-old man, Monday Chukwu, accused of f*tally st*bbing his friend, Kefa Ofando, over a N2,000 debt.
According to Tribune, Chukwu and Ofando were arguing about the money when the dispute escalated into a physical altercation, leading to Chukwu st*bbing Ofando in the neck at Akintola village in the Odigbo local government area.
During a press briefing, State Commissioner of Police, Oladipo Abayomi, explained that the argument trag!cally resulted in Ofando’s death.
“On September 20, 2024, operatives of the Ondo State Police Command from the Odigbo Divisional Police Headquarters, responding to a complaint, promptly arrested Monday Chukwu, a resident of Akintola village,” the Commissioner stated. “The suspect allegedly st*bbed 30-year-old Kefa Ofando to de*th following an argument over a N2,000 loan, with Chukwu att*cking Ofando with scissors.”
Upon reaching the scene, crime scene experts recovered the scissors used in the att*ck, and a medical practitioner confirmed Kefa Ofando’s death. The investigation is ongoing, and Chukwu will be charged in court upon its conclusion.
Commissioner Abayomi emphasized the importance of avoiding violent confrontations and exercising restraint when angry or under pressure.
