Iran Cancels All Flights Amid Concerns Over Possible New Att*ck on Israel

Iran has canceled all flights at its airports due to escalating military tensions with Israel. Local media reported that flights were suspended from 9 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday amid increased security r!sks following the anniversary of October 7 and concerns about Israeli retaliation for recent missile strikes.

Iran launched around 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, claiming it was in response to the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31, an act Iran attributes to Israel. This attack also served as retaliation for Israel’s k!lling of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut on September 28, along with Iranian commander Abbas Nilforoushan.

Israel has vowed to respond, with reports suggesting that Iran’s oil and nuclear facilities could be key targets. Iranian officials have reiterated that the country is prepared to counter any attacks with force.

Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization cited “operational limitations” as the reason for the flight cancellations and urged passengers to reach out to airlines for trip rescheduling. International airlines, including Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, and Emirates, have also halted flights to several countries in the region due to security concerns arising from the conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s right to defend itself, stating on Saturday, “No country in the world would accept such an attack on its cities and citizens, and Israel won’t either.” He affirmed that Israel will retaliate against the missile strikes.
