Husband Posted Disturb!ng Messages on Facebook Before Being Discovered Dead with Wife: ‘I Want to Clear My Name’

A man suspected by police of committing m*rder-suicide after k!lling his wife had posted several unsettling messages on social media in the days preceding the event.

Hannah Kang, 25, was k!lled by her husband, Youree Kang, 34, who then took his own life in their Austin, Texas home on September 24, according to a statement from the Austin Police Department.

Police were called to the residence after Hannah’s aunt requested a welfare check, having not heard from the couple for 24 hours. She visited the home, noticed their vehicle present, but received no answer at the door.

Upon arrival, police found both individuals deceased inside the house.

“This is a m*rder-su!cide, and there are no other persons of interest,” Austin police told PEOPLE.

Leading up to the incident, Youree had made several Facebook posts that raised alarms among those who knew him. (The Austin police confirmed to PEOPLE that the Facebook account belonged to Youree).

“I’m terr!fied of what’s going to happen to me because everyone is instilling fear in me,” Youree posted the day before the trag*dy.

“Whenever I ask, it’s like everyone knows something but won’t share it with me,” he wrote.

“My wife has also been acting very strange lately,” he continued. “She’s not the same person I met. For 10 years, she stuck by my craziness and now she’s quick to a divorce. I was hoping for us to continue to grow with each other.”

In another post from the day prior, he expressed regret about starting a relationship with Hannah when he was 24 and she was a minor.

“I’ve been a menace in society and want to clear my name. I was in an abus!ve and toxic mindset when I first met Hannah,” he admitted.

“Upon getting to know her, she told me her age (minor) and I still pursued a relationship. It was wrong of me and I can never give her her precious life back.”

His posts were concerning to those familiar with him.

“I am absolutely and completely heartbroken and in shock…beyond sick to my stomach. I just reached out the other day to check on his well-being as something was very clearly off,” one user commented on Facebook alongside an article about the events.

“I just messaged Youree the other day after reading some of his posts,” another user wrote. “This is so heartbreaking.”
