House of Reps Summon EFCC Chairman, VeryDarkMan, and Bobrisky Over Bribery Allegations

The House of Representatives has summoned EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyode, the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service Haliru Nababa, along with Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan, and all officers involved in Bobrisky’s prosecution.

In a letter dated September 27, 2024, the committee requested that Olukoyode and Nababa appear on Monday, September 30, accompanied by all relevant officers regarding the allegations.

Others invited include ACG Ben Rabbi Freedman, Controller of Corrections for Lagos Command, Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Board, and DCCs Sikiru Adekunle and Micheal Anugwa, who oversee medium and maximum security, respectively, along with Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan.

The bribery allegations involve the anti-graft agency and the Nigerian Correctional Service concerning Bobrisky, who was sentenced earlier this year to six months in prison for naira abuse.

A trending audio clip shared by VeryDarkMan claims that Bobrisky paid N15 million to the EFCC to have money laundering charges against him dropped and that he spent his time in a VIP facility rather than a standard prison.

This summons follows the House of Representatives’ decision to investigate the alleged bribery involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
