“Gerard Pique Claims Shakira Isn’t Fully Honest About Their Breakup, Expresses Happiness with New Girlfriend 12 Years Younger”

Former Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué has accused Shakira of not being entirely truthful about the details surrounding their breakup.

In June 2022, the 47-year-old Colombian singer announced her split from Piqué, amid rumors of his infidelity after 11 years together and two children. Since then, Shakira has openly addressed the separation and criticized Piqué in her music.

Now 37, Piqué is in a relationship with 25-year-old Clara Chia Marti and claims to be “very happy,” despite Shakira also expressing disapproval of his new partner.

“The truth or reality of the situation isn’t always told as it happened, and that’s something beyond my control,” Piqué told CNN, as reported by AS. “The best thing is that I’m surrounded by people who love me—my family, friends, and those who really know me. They understand who I am, and that gives me peace.”

He added, “I’m very happy, enjoying life, and feel fortunate. I had the privilege of playing for my lifelong club for over 20 years, I have amazing children, a wonderful family, and friends I’ve had since school.”

Piqué and Shakira share two sons, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.

In 2022, Spanish outlet El Periodico reported that the couple had been living apart for weeks after Shakira allegedly asked Piqué to leave their home. Rumors circulated that Shakira discovered Piqué’s alleged affair after noticing that a jar of strawberry jam had been eaten while she was away, as she was reportedly the only one in the household who ate it. However, Shakira has since debunked this theory.

By the summer of 2023, Piqué had reportedly moved in with Clara Chia, into the home he once shared with Shakira after she relocated to Barcelona.

In January 2023, video footage emerged allegedly showing Clara Chia at Piqué’s family home before his breakup with Shakira. The footage, dated August 2021, nearly ten months before the separation was made public, reportedly left Shakira feeling “devastated.”
