Dame Pauline Tallen, the former Minister of Women Affairs, is grieving the loss of her only son, Richard, who passed away at Cedar Crest Hospital in Abuja on the morning of October 6. He had been hospitalized prior to his death.
According to DailyTrust, the cause of Richard’s death has not yet been disclosed, but reports suggest he was placed on oxygen in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the night of October 4.
Richard’s passing was also confirmed by his alma mater, the Vom Old Boys’ Association (VOBA), which shared the news on social media, stating that he died in Abuja after a brief illness.
“On a very sad note, we regret to announce the sudden passing of our member, Mr. Richard Adamu Tallen. Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May the soul of Richard and all departed VOBA members rest in peace. Amen,” the group wrote on Facebook on Sunday afternoon.
Richard, a 42-year-old graduate in Computer Science from a university in the United States, is survived by his wife and three children.
The family will announce details regarding the burial arrangements in due course.
