FFK Criticizes Nigerian Born UK Lawmaker Kemi for Saying She Doesn’t Want UK to Become Like Nigeria

Former Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has responded forcefully to recent comments made by UK Minister Kemi Badenoch about her Nigerian roots.

Badenoch, the UK’s Secretary of State for Business and Trade, reportedly emphasized her commitment to Britain by saying, “This is my country… I don’t want it to become like the place I left. I want it to keep improving, not just for myself, but for future generations.”

In reaction, Fani-Kayode criticized Badenoch on Twitter, calling her “self-righteous” and using strong language to express his disapproval. He suggested that she should focus on helping Nigeria rather than disparaging it from abroad.

His tweet, where he referred to Badenoch as “the female Uncle Tom,” ignited further discussion on social media about loyalty, national identity, and the responsibilities of Nigerians living abroad in promoting positive change.
