A Justin Timberlake fan recently “missed the opportunity of a lifetime” because she was too preoccupied with her phone. It’s no secret that cell phones at concerts can be a source of irritation, and some have even called for a total ban on them during shows.
For example, the band Placebo requested that fans refrain from using their phones during their 2022 UK tour. “Dear Placebo fans, we kindly ask you NOT to film or take photos with your mobile phones during the concert,” they posted on social media. “It makes Placebo’s performance much more difficult. It’s harder to connect with you and convey the emotions of the songs. Plus, it’s disrespectful to other concert-goers who came to watch the show, not the back of your phone.”
This issue was perfectly highlighted at a recent Justin Timberlake concert.
In a now-viral video, Timberlake walks up to a fan in the front row and sings directly to her. Unfortunately, she remains oblivious to his presence, completely engrossed in her phone, missing the once-in-a-lifetime moment.
