Ariana Grande Apologizes Following Elvira’s Claim of ‘Worst Celebrity Encounter’ After They Met Backstage

Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark, recently called out Ariana Grande over an uncomfortable interaction, prompting the singer to reply. During a Q&A at Knott’s Scary Farm in California on October 18, Elvira, whose real name is Cassandra Gay Peterson, recounted an alleged incident involving Grande, the star of Wicked.

Elvira was asked about her experiences with celebrities, including Grande. She claimed that during one of her meet-and-greet sessions, Grande bought 21 tickets and brought friends and family backstage, requesting photos with Elvira. After Elvira took pictures with everyone, she asked Grande for a photo, but Grande reportedly declined, saying, “No, I don’t really do that.” Elvira also noted that Grande left before the show started, leaving her guests behind. This led to online criticism of Grande, with people labeling her as Elvira’s “Worst Celebrity Encounter.”

Elvira shared an article about the incident on her Instagram on October 21, which prompted a response from Grande.

Grande expressed sadness over the remarks, explaining she didn’t recall meeting Elvira due to having an anxiety attack at the time. She mentioned that she might have left early because she finds large crowds and loud places overwhelming. Grande sincerely apologized if she had misremembered the event, thanked Elvira for being kind to her mother, and called her the “Queen of Halloween.”

Fans praised Grande’s response, with one commenting: “This is why we love you! Always responding with love and explaining yourself even when you don’t have to. Your strength is so admirable. Love you more than I can express.”
