Cultural diversity is central to the UCD Smurfit community, and to enhance this within the MBA program, several merit-based scholarships will be awarded to outstanding candidates who will represent the UCD Smurfit MBA and the School both during their studies and post-graduation.
Funded by UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, the Regional Merit-Based Scholarships will be granted to exceptional students recognized as ambassadors for the MBA program and the School. While these scholarships typically cover 50% of the MBA tuition, exceptional cases may warrant up to a full 100% coverage.

- Open to all successful international MBA applicants with a minimum GMAT score of 600 or above. Note that the GMAT deadline for Indian and other regional applicants is June 30, 2021.

- Applicants must have an ‘Offer’ or ‘Accept’ status associated with their GMAT application to be considered for the scholarships.
- Only complete applications submitted before the scholarship deadline will be evaluated.
MBA Course Entry Requirements:
A university degree is required. Candidates must have at least three years of quality professional experience (excluding summer internships, part-time, or temporary positions).
For the Full-Time MBA program, a valid GMAT score is required, with a preferred minimum of 600. The average GMAT score for the current MBA cohort is 646. For the Executive MBA program, a minimum GMAT score of 520 is necessary.
For the GMAC Executive Assessment (EA), a score of 149 or higher is required, with additional information about the EA available through provided resources (please note that the EA is only accepted for EMBA applicants, and the current average EA score for the EMBA class is 151/200).
In addition to meeting the minimum GMAT/EA score, candidates for both the Full-Time MBA and EMBA programs must perform adequately in the quantitative section of the test. Alternatively, candidates can submit a valid GRE test score, with indicative equivalencies provided via GRE resources.
All applicants must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency, requiring an average IELTS score of 7.0 across all components, with at least 6.5 in each section on the Academic Version. Alternatively, a minimum score of 100 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) is necessary, including at least 24 in Writing and a minimum of 20 in Reading, Listening, and Speaking components.

- What do you believe is UCD Smurfit School’s responsibility to you as an MBA student, and what is your responsibility to the School? (Max. 300 words) Please adhere to the word limit.
- What are your career expectations for the three years following your MBA? (Max. 300 words) Please adhere to the word limit.
- For re-applicants only: Have your career goals, views on UCD Smurfit, and aspirations for pursuing an MBA changed since your last application? (Max. 300 words)
- Upload the following supporting documents to your online application account:
- Curriculum Vitae
- GMAT official score report or confirmation of your scheduled GMAT test date
- IELTS/TOEFL official test report or confirmation of your scheduled IELTS/TOEFL test date (if applicable)
- Copies of official final transcripts for degrees and/or professional qualifications (degree certificates are usually not required but may be requested)
