The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old woman, Ogunlana Yemisi, for allegedly att*cking her husband, Idowu Adebowale, 31, and injur!ng his genitals with a sharp object.
The incident was confirmed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, in a statement to reporters on Monday, October 21, 2024.
According to the report, Adebowale informed the police that his wife assaulted him at around 4:30 a.m. on October 15, following a minor argument. He showed the officers a deep cut on his geni!tals, which he claimed was inflicted by his wife.
“Detectives promptly responded to the report, visited the scene, and arrested the suspect,” said the police spokesperson.
“During interrogation, the wife denied the accusations. However, due to the severity of the injury and the delay in seeking medical care by the victim, he was given a medical form and advised to go to the hospital.
“The suspect remains in custody, and the case will be transferred to the SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation.
“A comprehensive investigation will be conducted, as this appears to be a case of domestic v!olence triggered by uncontrollable anger.”
