Lawyer Claims Woman Was ‘Justified’ in Filming Boyfriend’s Suffoc*tion in Suitcase. She Allegedly Laughed as he D!ed Slowly

An American woman who filmed her boyfriend suffoc*ting to death while laughing was deemed “justified in her actions” by a jury, according to court proceedings.

Sarah Boone appeared in court on Friday, October 18, in Orlando, Florida, facing second-degree mvrder charges for the death of her partner, Jorge Torres, whose body was found in a suitcase at their apartment in February 2020.

The 46-year-old woman claims that they were playing a drunken game of “hide and seek” when Torres, 42, voluntarily climbed into the suitcase. She told police that she fell asleep with him inside and woke up the next morning to discover he had died.

In his opening statement, Boone’s defense attorney, James Owens, argued that she did not intend to kill Torres but instead sought a “captive audience” after enduring repeated abuse during their three-year relationship. He contended that her actions were “justified.”

Assistant State Attorney William Jay, who is prosecuting the case, countered that Boone acted with “malicious intent to punish him” and then went to sleep, leaving him to die alone.

The prosecution presented evidence that included a video recorded by Boone in which Torres can be heard pleading for help from inside the suitcase, repeatedly saying, “Sarah, I can’t breathe.”
