Abuja OAP, Evelyn Nneka Obasi, has warned men against getting involved with “lazy women who will manipulate them into becoming errand boys under the guise of love or romance.”
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, she cautioned, “Any young woman who takes pleasure in sending gatemen or security personnel on errands for tasks she could handle herself is unlikely to be a suitable partner for you or your household.”
Obasi advised men to pay attention to stories about girlfriends who ask gatemen to buy pads or wash clothes, including intimate items like underwear. It often starts with small requests, like refilling gas, and gradually becomes a habit. This behavior, she explained, signals a woman who may take advantage of you at home, especially if you’re financially unstable or mistreat domestic workers.
She described such women as lazy and prone to belittling men, turning them into “vegetables.” Obasi emphasized that frequent errands disguised as “love or romance” aren’t tasks that respectful women impose. Some men wouldn’t tolerate such treatment because they are valued and respected by their partners.
She advised men to reconsider their relationships if they notice recurring requests like, “Baby, can you buy me this or that?” or “Bring this and that.” This is often how it starts. Women who truly respect their partners serve them instead of sending them on unnecessary errands.
Obasi urged men not to become subjects of ridicule, viewed as overly caring partners simply because they allow themselves to be treated like houseboys or security guards.
She highlighted that historically, some women can be “power-hungry” and “controlling,” and poorly handling such situations can lead to suffering for everyone involved.
